10 Hobby Lobby Teacher Discount Tips

Are you a Hobby Lobby fan? Read on for our best Hobby Lobby teacher discount tips and tricks!

1. Always use a 40 percent off coupon from the Hobby Lobby home page.

At the top of their home page, Hobby Lobby always has a 40 percent off coupon good for use on one regularly price item. (This excludes sale items, gift cards, custom orders, snacks, and some other restrictions.) The coupon can be used online and will be applied to the most expensive item in your cart, or you can print and bring it in store!

2. Use the 40 percent off coupon instead of the sale price.

If there is an item you have to have for your classroom that is 10, 20, or 30 percent off, you can opt to use the 40 percent off coupon instead of the sale price. Score!

3. Sign up for Hobby Lobby emails to learn what’s 50 percent off each week.

When you join the Hobby Lobby email list, you will receive the weekly ad, which gives the 411 on which items are on sale, special promotions, coupons, fun project ideas, and store news.

4. Get 10 percent off everything when you use an official school credit card or check.

If you are at Hobby Lobby on official school business (as in, not shopping for a cushion for your reading nook that matches your new color scheme), Hobby Lobby will take 10 percent off your entire bill. To get this discount you, must pay with an official school check or school credit card.

5. Always check the clearance aisle.

Hobby Lobby’s clearance aisle is such a treasure trove. You might just find the items on your list there first!

6. Put the home accent sales on your calendar.

Twice yearly, Holly Lobby drastically discounts their home accent items (otherwise known as classroom accent items, of course!). The sales start at 50–60 percent off, and the price drops go all the way to 90 percent off until the inventory is gone! The sales begin each year after Christmas, reaching peak discount in February, and after Mother’s Day, reaching peak discount in summer.

7. Research competitor ads and bring the flyers with you.

Hobby Lobby will match a competitor’s lower price when you shop in store, but only if the competitor lists the lower price in a published ad. Unfortunately, Hobby Lobby will not honor a competitor’s discount coupons.

8. Follow Hobby Lobby on Facebook for special giveaways and discounts.

Hobby Lobby’s Facebook page regularly gives away gift cards, and they also post special coupons.

9. Shop the online clearance section.

The online clearance section at Hobby Lobby is packed full of items you won’t believe are that deeply discounted! There tends to be a great selection of art supplies and crafting accessories for online clearance.

10. Check the newspaper.

Kick it old school and check out the Hobby Lobby section in your newspaper coupon section. You’ll see the weekly sales in a format bigger than your phone and can easily grab a hard copy of the 40 percent off coupon.
