Meet Nicole Homerin
Nicole brings a passion for inclusive education and accessible learning to every resource she creates.
With more than a decade of experience in education, Nicole has primarily taught preschool and early elementary special education. Throughout her career, she has focused on supporting students who are deafblind, have multiple disabilities, and are medically complex. Her dedication to meeting the unique needs of every learner has shaped her approach to teaching and resource development.
Today, Nicole serves as a home teacher for a medically complex 3-year-old while also working in disability advocacy and curriculum development for a variety of nonprofits and foundations. Her extensive experience across educational settings gives her a unique perspective on creating resources that are inclusive, engaging, and adaptable for diverse learners.
Nicole is committed to helping educators provide meaningful learning experiences that empower every student to succeed.
We asked Nicole to share her ideas and priorities for creating educational resources.
What part of the student experience do you always keep in mind when designing your materials?
When designing materials and curriculum, I always keep in mind Universal Design for Learning and that each child learns in a different way and needs different supports to optimize their learning experience. I try to incorporate a variety of different modalities and consider a diversity of experiences to support the diversity of student needs.
What can teachers expect every time they use one of your Premium resources?
Teachers can count on exciting and engaging learning opportunities with multiple ways to engage with the material and differentiate for different needs.
