Meet Brooke Naumoff

Brooke brings a passion for engaging, student-centered ELA instruction to every resource she creates.

She has spent the past 13 years teaching English to students in grades 8–12, where she discovered that the most effective lessons are the ones that inspire students to think deeply, create confidently, and become so engaged they forget they’re doing schoolwork. Throughout her career, she has worked with a wide range of learners and understands both the challenges of building curriculum from scratch and the need to keep instruction fresh and exciting year after year.

Drawing on her classroom experience, Brooke creates practical, classroom-tested resources that support teachers while making learning meaningful for students. Her lessons and activities are designed to spark critical thinking, encourage creativity, and help secondary ELA classrooms become places where reading and writing feel relevant, engaging, and fun.

We asked Brooke to share her ideas and priorities for creating educational resources.

When you’re creating resources, what do you always keep in mind?

I always remind myself what it was like to be a student and ask myself, “Is this something that I would have enjoyed when I was in their spot?” I really try to make my lessons and activities creative and fun but also get students to think.

What can teachers expect every time they use one of your resources?

I try to save teachers time and provide resources that are classroom-tested. I always think about how I would implement any of these activities in my classroom and anticipate any questions that could arise, while also leaving room for teachers to take what they want and leave what they don’t need. I also consider classroom connection to be important and look for ways for students to collaborate together.
