Myranda holds advanced degrees in educational leadership and curriculum, and her work has consistently focused on making learning meaningful, accessible, and engaging for all students.
Her extensive experience supporting learners across a variety of educational settings inspires the practical, student-centered resources she creates for teachers.
We asked Myranda to share her ideas and priorities for creating educational resources.
When you’re creating resources, what do you always keep in mind?
I always keep the English language learner in mind, even when I’m not designing ESL-specific materials. I ask whether a student who is still building academic vocabulary can access the content without the language getting in the way of the learning.
I think about scaffolding. Is there a visual, a sentence frame, or a chunked step that gives every student an entry point, not just the ones who are already fluent readers? I also think about engagement and relevance, since students invest more when material connects to something real.
At the core, I want a student who is struggling, whether with language, confidence, or the content itself, to still be able to find a foothold in what I’ve created.
What can teachers expect every time they use one of your resources?
Teachers can count on materials that are standards-aligned and classroom-tested, not just theoretically sound but resources I’ve actually used or vetted in real instructional settings.
They can also count on built-in accessibility. Scaffolding and support for English language learners are baked into the resource rather than added as an afterthought, making the materials work for the full range of students in the classroom.
Most importantly, teachers can expect resources that are ready to use with minimal extra prep because I understand how valuable planning time is.
