Virtual Field Trip to the San Diego Zoo

Go to the zoo without leaving the classroom!

Take your students on a virtual field trip to the San Diego Zoo. The San Diego Zoo Kids site features video lessons hosted by zookeepers packed with information and interesting facts about popular animals.

Students can learn about Sumatran tigers, rhinos, leopards and more. There are 35 videos in total. You can also view the live web cams so students can see the elephants, pandas, apes and polar bears in real time!

In addition to all the videos, there are crafts and activities for kids. Some as simple as learning how to draw animals and others more involved. Students can explore the games section and play Polar Bear Plunge, Elephant Odyssey and more.

There is also a section that explains all the jobs at the zoo. Students learn there are more than just zookeepers that keep the zoo running. Learn how veterinarians, nutritionists and horticulturists play a role in the zoo.

Check out the San Diego Zoo Kids Website for all the fun.
