10 Teacher Hairstyles to Rock in the Classroom

If you have long hair, you’ll love these.

Sick of chalk dust in your hair? Wish you could sweep it back with the easy elegance of Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice?

Here are 10 fun teacher hairstyles for long hair you can do in 15 minutes or less. These are perfect for when you want to give your day a touch of fun and keep that hair out of your face at the same time. If you try one of these, post it to Instagram with the hashtag #TeacherHair. We want to see it!

1. The Ponytail Tuck

This is probably the easiest of them all. If you’ve got two minutes, you’ve got time to style this elegant look to dress things up a bit.

2. Low Braided Bun

Want something stylish for a significant meeting or special event? The low braided bun looks fancy but doesn’t take long.

3. Messy Bun with a Braided Wrap

This is one of my favorites. It takes the old classic messy bun and gives it a fun punch. Don’t be fooled into thinking you can’t do it, it’s SUPER easy!

4. Twisting Bun

Use plenty of bobby pins to hold this in place for a busy day of teaching, then don’t be surprised if your students ask you how you did it.

5. The Fishtail Braid

This braid needs a new name, but it’s pretty, easy and great in a pinch. It doesn’t take long to learn, so don’t give up if your first try doesn’t go perfectly.

6. Dressed Up Ponytail

If you’re most comfortable teaching in a ponytail, one of these three fancy dresses for it might be for you.

7. Double Flip Through Tuck

This unique style takes a few extra minutes but is still quite easy to master. Perfect for a school awards night, interview, or parent-teacher conference.

8. The Big French Braid

I have to admit I’ve never seen Frozen, but I still hum along to “Let it Go” all the time. The big French braid has become synonymous with Elsa, but it’s also just a fun, fashionable look at the moment. And your Frozen-loving students will definitely want to talk about it!

9. The Rope Braid

Rope braids are misunderstood. They are actually super simple once you get the hang of which way to twist your hair. Keep at it a few times one day and you’ll be able to do this lovely braid forever.

10. Bohemian Milkmaid Braids

Feeling brave? This style looks so hard, but it really only takes a skill you probably learned in elementary school, the basic braid. Be bold and try it, it will definitely change the tune of your day.

A fun updo can make a stressful day better with a little boost of confidence and a change in your routine. Hopefully one of these will become your new go-to.
