After putting so much of myself into my first year teaching, when spring break rolled around I was exhausted. So I did what any other first year teacher would do. I took the break to get ahead on my planning and catch up on my grading. As the final Sunday of the break approached, a pounding headache reminded me that I had not actually taken a break.
That year I learned that breaks should be breaks.
