With Earth Day around the corner, we’re reading books that celebrate taking care of our planet. And one of our absolute favorites is Dr. Seuss’s classic The Lorax. The book features so many lines that will stick with us forever, like…
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
Life-changing words, right? That’s why we are thrilled that our friends at Random House Children’s Books have shared their brand new Lorax activity guide . It features fun, hands-on activities kids can do at home. Plus, they’ve included eight printable posters (in English and Spanish) to help students remember Earth-friendly tips like turning off the lights and shutting off the faucet.
This Lorax activity guide is seriously all you need to celebrate Earth Day with kids. You can get your copy right here. Don’t forget to share it with a friend! Plus, the first 100 teachers who enter Random House’s Earth Day giveaway will receive a hard copy of the teaching guide, a classroom poster, a tote bag, and more! (Once schools are back in session.)
Here’s one more piece of good news. Random House Children’s Books recently announced that they have granted temporary permission for schools to read aloud their books, including The Lorax! That means you could host a virtual storytime of this favorite read aloud for Earth Day Fun.
Enjoy celebrating this classic book and our beautiful planet. Happy Earth Day!
