There are lots of great reasons for teachers to read more. Reading is excellent self-care, but it’s also a fantastic way to learn what’s in your classroom library—or what should be. When teachers read, they open up new ways of thinking for themselves, and they show kids what a reader looks like. It’s amazing what being a reader will do for your self-confidence in the classroom. This year, let’s commit to the kind of reading that’s actually possible. The WeAreTeachers 2018 Reading Challenge can help you. Each month is a different book challenge for you to consider. After you read your book(s) for a particular month, visit our Facebook page at WeAreTeachers Reading and share what you read. That’s it!
I can’t wait to follow these threads. I’m going to use Goodreads to track everyone’s suggestions, along with what I read, so I can finally say I met my reading goals.
