Essential Tools

Bring the power of Web 2.0 tools into your projects and your classroom with these free tools:

Apply for a Digital Learning Microgrant
sponsored by Dell

Most kids today are immersed in a digital lifestyle—downloading games and music, socializing and shopping online, texting their friends on smart phones, and seldom, if ever, tripping over an actual “land–line.”

As a teacher, how do you incorporate these technologies? What innovative, creative, and original thoughts do you have to encourage digital learning in or out of the classroom?

Submit your idea for a chance to earn $200 and a Flip Video camera.

Then let your friends and the WAT community select ten Microgrant recipients. The money will help you jump-start your project. Use the Flip Video camera to document and share your idea with others.

Application deadline: July 24| Voting begins: July 27 | Recipients announced: August 12

I am preparing for a round of travel to teach at summer music institutes in Colorado, Bogota, Hamilton (ON), and Wisconsin. I like to imagine myself as a bee, picking up "pollen" at different places, and sharing ideas and inspiration between people.
