Instant Messaging Services Instant message, or IM as most people call it, is probably one of the most widely used tech tools that crosses age, gender, industry, and application (business, school, personal, etc.). We've probably all used one or more of these services to communicate with colleagues, family, and friends. Let's talk about which ones you like and why. My favorite, as Mac-only user is iChat. Here are just a few of the reasons I like it: I can include buddies from a variety of IM services; it is easy for me to set up and use; I can change the preferences so that when a buddy comes in or out, their name is voiced (this is particularly helpful when I'm waiting to speak to someone and email isn't quick enough and I don't want to bother them via phone).
