1. Can I teach overseas without an undergraduate degree?
No. Due to foreign immigration laws, most countries require you to have graduated with an undergraduate bachelor's degree from a college or university. You do not have to wait until graduation to begin the job application process. The process can begin as early as 3 months prior to graduation.
2. Do I need a teaching degree or special certifications to teach overseas?
No. A common misconception is that you need a special degree or certification to teach English overseas. While it may be advantageous to have specific teaching experience or credentials, it is not required in most countries. Many schools have training programs that assist those without experience gain the necessary knowledge to successfully lead a classroom. To teach English overseas, however, you must be a native English speaker.
3. What age groups will I be teaching?
English language courses are available to many different age groups overseas. There are courses from kindergarten through high school, as well as adult and business English courses available.
4. What will my normal working hours be?
Working hours depends heavily on what type of program you will be teaching. English language courses are typically offered to students after normal schooling, and are therefore anywhere from 4:00 to 9:00 PM. If you are teaching kindergarten or adults, classes can be held throughout the day in the morning or afternoon. Some adult classes are also offered at night.
5. How are instructors assisted with airfare and accommodation?

Your start date will depend on how quickly the visa process can be completed in each particular country. Some countries visa process can take as quickly as 3 weeks, while others take approximately two months. It is best to begin the interview and recruitment process a few months in advance of your desired start date to ensure that there is enough time to process your visa.
