2. Do I need a teaching degree or special certifications to teach overseas? No. A common misconception is that you need a special degree or certification to teach English overseas. While it may be advantageous to have specific teaching experience or credentials, it is not required in most countries. Many schools have training programs that assist those without experience gain the necessary knowledge to successfully lead a classroom. To teach English overseas, however, you must be a native English speaker.

3. What age groups will I be teaching? English language courses are available to many different age groups overseas. There are courses from kindergarten through high school, as well as adult and business English courses available.

4. What will my normal working hours be? Working hours depends heavily on what type of program you will be teaching. English language courses are typically offered to students after normal schooling, and are therefore anywhere from 4:00 to 9:00 PM.
