Objective:
Students will use hands on experience with primary source materials as a way of introducing the power of this informational material. This experience will enable students to generate their own questions concerning the material.

What to do:
- Give students a packet of primary source documents.
- Have students read through the documents to develop an understanding of what the characteristics of primary source documents.
- As a group classify the documents and discuss why they are primary source as compared to other distanced sources.
Wrapping Up
Have students conduct an oral history interview with a parent or other adult to see how information changes as the telling of the story is retold.
