My favorite way to teach is with graphic organizers. Maybe it’s because I learn best with them. They’re especially helpful to me with social studies, because so much of it involves memorizing and keeping straight different locations, people, dates and events. This week’s freebie is a graphic organizer for teaching the seven continents. I’ve included the name (so kids learn to spell it correctly) and an outline of each continent (because who wants to try drawing those?!). Fill in the “description” column with whatever information fits your curriculum. If you want to use this as an assessment, simply white-out the parts you want students to tell you (before you make copies).
